(You're pulling me deeper)
(Meter by meter)
(Swallowed by)
(This never ending dark)
You were trying to slow me down
Pulling on my hopeless trust
You've been ruling with a crown
While my mind just turns to dust
I've been baiting you patiently
Since I know my time will come
Now I'm here standing
Waiting for you to drown
Tell me
What do you do
What do you do
What do you do
Tell me
What do you do
What do you do
I follow you down
You're pulling me deeper
Meter by meter
Swallowed by
This never ending dark
Let's light it up
(Up)
Now you're starting to lose the ground
No one's here to back you up
You never thought this day would come
But I'm left the only one
Who is looting your energy
Rising from the rivalry
Now I'm here standing
Waiting for you to drown
Tell me
What do you do
You're pulling me deeper
Meter by meter
(What do you do)
Swallowed by
This never ending dark
(What do you do)
Let's light it up
Tell me
What do you do
What do you do
What do you do
This is a great example of the fun storytelling possible through lyricism; it's one big effort to immerse you in a world of neon-lit streets, rain-drenched skyscrapers climbing into darkness, and the conflicts of the people (and machines) living beneath them. Drawing heavily on '80s synthwave without slavishly adhering to its conventions, Dreams of Neo-Tokyo is like a solid little classic sci-fi novella, set to the sound of the era that first married cosmic conflict to street-level grit. jammingdevice
what an album! though the instrumentals were the beginning of the appeal, there's no denying that the vocals are a perfect match for this romp through every 80's genre. there's the exquisite bliss of synth pop, some hair metal, some great and creative ballads, a little coldwave, literally a decade in 13 tracks, all of which are superbly crafted. plus a stellar Prince cover! Love every second of this sci-fi rave album! Great job on conceptualizing it, making it more cohesive and it's still a very diverse record, in the best Klay fashion. Feels very nostalgic and yet futuristic. Amens are da best! nthng_bt_gltch
